MONDAY-FRIDAY: 5:30-10:00 AM
I’m a proud Appalachian State Mountaineer, Class of 2001!  I met my husband Jay, a Raleigh native, while attending school at ASU.  I’ve lived in Raleigh since 2002 and now it feels as much like home as my real hometown, Greensboro, NC, ever did.  I love the Triangle!

I am a busy working mom these days. Things are pretty crazy around the Carothers household. We had our daughter, Claire, our QDR baby on 9-4-07 (94.7 – Crazy!) and our son, Parker, on July 25, 2010.  I’m like most working moms – just trying to make it all work and keep my sanity in the process! It’s a tough schedule to juggle but I love it and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

I joined the Q Morning Crew in September of 2006 and what a wild ride it’s been!  I’ve had so many experiences that I never even dreamed of.  Some of those highlights being, bringing THE KING of Country music, George Strait, on stage in front of 20,000 people at Walnut Creek, winning ACM and CMA awards for Large Market radio station of the year, receiving nominations for On Air Personality of the year for the CMA’s and ACM’s (we haven’t won….YET! ;)), attending awards shows and meeting and getting know some of my favorite artists!  I feel really lucky that I spend my mornings with Mike Wheless and Marty Young.  We have a great team and we really are friends, even when the microphones are turned off.

The guys joke that I’m a walking lyric machine.  What can I say?  I love country music!!  Some of my favorites are Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town and Blake Shelton, just to name a few!

Join the Q Morning Crew weekdays from 5:30 am – 10 am!

There are a few things that I am passionate about and one of those things has always been music. I started singing in front of the church and harmonizing in the car with my sister when I was about 4 years old. Music has always been a part of my life, whether singing, listening to the radio, or when I was little, playing the piano. Growing up in North Carolina I changed my musical interests from New Kids on the Block to artists like Suzy Boggus, Clay Walker, Reba and George Strait. And hey, let’s face it - I wanted to be LeAnn Rimes even though she was a few years younger than me! "Blue" is still one of my favorite karaoke songs to sing, so it’s been country for me ever since.  My mom says that she always knew that my career would involve talking -  I guess she called that one right!  You can hear me in the mornings as part of the Q Morning Crew with my 2 crazy guy sidekicks – Wheless and Marty!
